All About
The Dashboard

Giving developers some peace-of-mind, it keeps all

the data they need to solve problems in one place.

It's Time To Fix This...

As a software company, Sites USA needs layers upon layers of data and information to keep innovating and solving problems.

Although there was a dashboard that already existed, it wasn't as functional as it should have been. The development team created a list of requirements that they would need to be successful

The original "Dashboard"

Requirements:

• A modular structure, with the ability to add, style, and customize each "widget"

• Customizable dates and date ranges, to inspect historical problems

• A variety of options for data visualizations

• Flexibility in the future to add more widget types

Then, I Got Started

Because this is an internal product, research included several discussions with the right teams and leadership for improvements.

But, How... and Where?

Since this dashboard will only be used by internal teams, it was important for me to consider where this should 'live" within our current internal tools - from Admin to Sales, and everything inbetween.

Design Inspiration from current tools

After doing some research and talking through ideas on how we could implement this, the Programming team was excited and ready to get started!

Because there was an established design language and format, low-fidelity wireframing was unnecessary, so I moved straight into designing data visualizations and the modular structure.

Now commencing, Design!

Designing the data visualizations was fun - but challenging - because several different perspectives are viewing them at any given moment.

Programmers need this dashboard to manage the servers and manage tasks, while the QA team needs to monitor errors and any tools that might not be working properly.

Because the main view of the new Dashboard is mostly data visualizations, with options to move, re-size, and style widgets as needed, the new Dashboard has allowed the programming team to manage errors and services more efficiently.
